Musician Rohan Heath and his partner, singer-songwriter Lou Rhodes, make their home in a charming 19th-century Georgian townhouse in Hampstead. This beautiful space seamlessly blends their distinct styles - eclectic vintage treasures, carefully chosen contemporary touches, and a warm, calming atmosphere. “I could not have created this space on my own”, Rohan notes, “It’s our synergy that is unique.”
The house tells the story of their shared passions and love for design, with a touch of playful sophistication in every room. Central to their family life is the sofa, a much-loved spot that serves as the backdrop for impromptu music-making sessions, intimate family gatherings, and quiet moments of cosy relaxation. It's here that their creative energy flows, and their home truly comes alive.
At Christmas, Rohan and Lou bring their own twists to tradition. Rohan's Swiss and Guyanese roots shape the festive décor and menu, while Lou's love of simplicity brings a grounding energy to their celebrations, which include a special Christmas Eve dinner with Rohan's daughters and a Christmas Day gathering with Lou’s sons. They share a love of quiet traditions, like playing the Swiss game Dog after Christmas lunch, or watching It’s a Wonderful Life together. Vintage mercury-glass ornaments and family heirlooms adorn the house and Christmas tree, bringing pops of colour to their usually muted palette. "Come Christmas all bets are off!”, says Rohan. “It’s back to the baubles, and colour plays a much bigger role.”
