Sofas and Stuff

Every detail in your home tells a story - bold fabric choices, cherished keepsakes, and the unique touches that reflect who you are. At Sofas & Stuff, we believe that your sofa should be no exception.

In our latest campaign, Uncommon Threads, we explore how every sofa can tell a story - of craft, comfort and the lives lived around and upon it. Through the sofa personalisation journeys of three creative individuals,we share how the process of choosing a sofa can become a joyful opportunity to bring your personal style to life.

Now, discover the unique sofa chronicles of flower farmer Milli Proust, actress and poet Greta Bellamacina, and musicians Rohan Heath and Lou Rhodes. Each has created a bespoke sofa that goes beyond furniture; it reflects their personal stories and lifestyles, offering a deeper connection to their homes.

Milli’s sofa, with its patterned green velvet, brings the outdoors inside, combining nature-inspired hues and a tactile texture for a comfortable, family-friendly space. Greta’s design is inspired by watercolours, combining subtle shades for a playful yet timeless expression. Rohan and Lou’s design harmonises with their love of subtlety and beautiful textiles, blending creativity and comfort into their living space.

Milli Proust

Milli’s 17th-century cottage in Sussex, shared with her partner, their young son and two dogs, is a home full of character, deeply rooted in both history and nature. Nothing is straight, and every corner has its own quirks - a timeless charm that brings a real connection with the past. Surrounded by woods and fields, Milli’s interiors echo the rhythm of her surroundings, filled with layers of texture, pattern, and natural elements that seamlessly bring the outside in.

When designing her sofa, Milli sought a piece that would blend with her lifestyle - one that could endure the demands of family life while offering comfort and tactile luxury. The rich green velvet she chose mirrors the natural world she loves, providing a neutral yet vibrant foundation in her home. Designed with durability in mind, the sofa reflects her need for something that would last, while its lush texture evokes the feeling of nature’s softness.

Rohan Heath and Lou Rhodes

For musicians Rohan Heath and Lou Rhodes, their home is a reflection of their shared journey, an evolving space where vintage finds and contemporary pieces coexist in perfect harmony. Their 19th-century Hampstead townhouse is a balance of contrasts, where history and heritage meets modern style.“We call it slow-roasted,” they say, describing their design approach. “Things that are best achieved are the ones you haven’t hurried.” Their home embodies this philosophy.

Comfort and style were key in choosing their sofa, with a focus on traditional details and a sense of being “held” by the design. The moss green velvet they chose brings memories of one of their favourite places, and complements their preference for pieces that feel effortlessly stylish.

Greta Bellamacina

Actress and poet Greta Bellamacina shares her Georgian home with her artist husband and two children. Vibrant yet intimate, the space reflects her family’s creative energy, with unexpected touches like scarlet carpets and bold greens and blues.

Greta sees her home as an extension of her imagination. Her sofa choice - the classic Kentwell, upholstered in a mix of soft pink linens in varying shades - was inspired by the techniques of watercolour painting. For Greta, it’s more than a sofa; it’s a personal artwork, with romantic twists and surprising details.
